Doctors’ insurance
The public organization “UDU” helps doctors protect their rights through professional liability insurance.
Professional liability insurance is a type of professional liability insurance that protects dentists and other professionals from financial losses resulting from errors, negligence, or omissions in the provision of professional services. The insurance covers losses caused to third parties – patients – due to unforeseen actions of the specialist, and can cover both harm to life and health, and material damage.
The legal department of the NGO “Union of Dentists of Ukraine” has developed and agreed with leading Ukrainian insurance companies a package of legal documents on professional liability insurance. On the basis of which, in the future, both doctors and patients will be protected. Namely, by compensating patients for financial losses that arose as a result of professional miscalculations of doctors – members of the NGO “UDU”.
Documentary confirmation of contracts with insurance companies will be an individual insurance policy for each member of the “UDU” NGO. Which will further provide financial protection in the event of an insured event. And the implementation of protection against the consequences of unintentional errors that led to damage will be the coverage of insured events if the patient or another third party suffered losses due to the doctor’s error or negligence, when the professional action or inaction in providing the service and the filing of claims by the injured third party occurred during the period of validity of the contract.
Given the above, the NGO “UDU” will be able to effectively and legally ensure the fulfillment of the requirements of the Constitution of Ukraine and the Civil Code of Ukraine, which guarantee every person the right to protect their violated, unrecognized or disputed rights, freedoms and interests.
