In every business model, no matter how promising, there is a vulnerable spot. Its name is dumping (artificial reduction of prices for goods, services, works). In the dental business, dumping is especially dangerous, as it leads to:
Decrease in the volume of working capital;
Reduced ability to update the material and technical base;
Decreased motivation for professional growth;
Decrease in the quality of service provision;
Lowering the image of the profession;
Decline in the professional level of staff.
The assertion of “reduction” underlies the definition of the term “DUMPING”.
Historically, dumping originated in the business environment of 18th-century England. Its use allowed young companies to enter the market. However, its use is economically justified in manufacturing, not in the service sector.
It should be noted that the market for providing medical services is specific and is based on the following postulates:
The authority of the doctor;
Professionalism;
“Word of mouth”;
Trust in the doctor.
It is not difficult to investigate the detrimental effects of dumping.
In Ukraine, dumping of many practices has led to the emergence of toxic patients. This usually happens against the background of a decrease in all parameters of the dental business, which dumping generates. In fact, the dentist turns into a service staff without the right to vote.
The Ukrainian Dental Union pursues a policy of combating the following methods:
Promoting equal opportunities in access to scientific, social and everyday achievements;
Equalization of prices for services in all regions of Ukraine;
Ensuring equal opportunities to practice medicine:
Overcoming dumping in the medical, and especially dental, business will lead to:
Setting corporate prices for services;
Reduction in prices of material and technical resources;
Growth of the motivational component in professional growth;
Increasing the image level of the profession and the high title of a doctor;
