Yes, in my opinion, a paradoxical situation has developed in the dental business of Ukraine. With extremely high professional training of specialists, a high level of material and technical base, high-quality implementation of medical, orthopedic, surgical protocols, prices are formed much lower than in the countries of the European community. This economic factor is a temptation to receive dental treatment in Ukraine, from Ukrainian specialists. It would seem that everyone remains satisfied. Ukrainian dentists have even somewhat improved the existing treatment protocols, especially in the sections on the terms of execution. This situation is explained by the lack of time for patients, which is dictated to them by the economy of the country from which they come to Ukrainian practices. Conducting practice in such conditions raises the level of professionalism of Ukrainian dentists even higher.
In the euphoria of success, patients often make concessions in compliance with the instructions of the medical institution or doctor, reduce the level of hygiene, increase the level of trauma, which leads to problems with the operation of prosthetic structures. Such situations force patients to seek advice from specialists in the area where they are. There is no point in talking about the professionalism of these specialists and their awareness of the clinical situation. Here, an old-fashioned strain comes into play, that imported is always better than domestic. The thoughts and actions of these specialists are often far from minimally invasive interventions and the adequacy of assessing the clinical situation. In general, the desire to obtain material benefits, the actions of such dentists significantly reduce the image level of Ukrainian dentists. Observing such a situation, patients choose a position of blackmail and distrust of the Ukrainian dentist, mainly pursuing their own mercantile interests.
What to do? First of all, contact with the treating foreign doctor is needed to understand this action. But often we are informed post-facto that the manipulation has already been performed. In this case, the patient should be informed that he continues treatment wherever he chooses, without any complaints to the Ukrainian dentist.
